Following COVID-19 we have returned to work in a hybrid fashion.This means there is now limited access to the HER hard copy collections, on a Wednesday and Thursday 9 AM – 430 PM, by appointment. Access at other times maybe possible, depending on staff availability. Digital services are still available as before.

Our Equalities Act compliant visitor space includes a visitor computer giving access to records on Heritage features, Events, Designated sites, finds and sources. Also available is digital mapping software giving access to National Mapping Programme air photograph transcriptions, polygonised data, digital vertical aerial photographs, historic mapping and Historic Landscape Characterisation data.
