Opening Hours:
Monday - Friday, 10am to 4pm by appointment only.

Visitor Facilities:
Small reference library, aerial photograph collection, archive records including maps, drawings, photographs and other manuscripts. Also artefact store and excavation paper archives.

Range of information available:
Records of archaeological sites, finds and historic buildings, including fieldwork reports, mapping and photographs. The SHER is open to public consultation but an appointment must be made in advance. Where possible enquiries will be dealt with by e-mail, phone or post. Commercial consultations are charged a fee dependent on the time needed - see our Charging Schedule.
